Today (July 26, 2025), the Israeli [Offensive] Forces hijacked and kidnapped the crew of the Handala, the latest in a fleet of flotillas attempting to break the blockade of Gaza by the IOF. This ship was filled with civilians from 10 countries, including Amazon Labor Organizer, Christian Smalls, all of whom were unarmed. The Handala also carried essential aid supplies, such as food, diapers, as well as teddy bears for the children of Gaza.
The images above are a screenshot of the moment that the Flotilla account on Youtube announced the kidnapping of their comrades and a screenshot of a dashboard that I created to track the direct murders of Palestinian civilians in Gaza using data from Tech For Palestine. As of July 24, 2025, 59,587 Palestinian civilians were directly murdered by the IOF. Of course, indirect deaths, including those due to infections that occurred as a result of injury, famine and starvation due to the IOF blockade, and a lack of proper medication to treat those with chronic illnesses, are not included in these figures.
What’s going on in Gaza is the third largest displacement crisis (after the humanitarian crises in Sudan and the Congo) and second largest direct genocide (after the humanitarian crisis in Sudan) happening in the world today, as well as the most well organized blockade and series of long-term concentration camps meant to exterminate an entire ethnic group in the world today.
AIPAC, the most notorious pro-Israel and anti-Palestinian lobbying group in the United States, is backed by American billionaires, used to siphon billions of American tax dollars to uphold and support the government of Israel as it commits atrocities against the indigenous peoples of Palestine. A snapshot of a dashboard that I created on this matter is shown below:

The most important reason for why the peoples of the world should care about the genocide and displacement crises in Sudan, Congo and Palestine is because many of the same billionaires who underpay and exploit the peoples of the West also benefit from these crises or back the continuation of these crises. It will take a united front of solidarity, ranging from local actions like education to massive actions like movement protests to end the continuation of these crises.
Brave acts, like the mission of the Handala flotilla, have shed light on the crisis in Palestine on an international scale.
