The people against the white supremacist + capitalist overlords…

Daily writing prompt
What do you complain about the most?

This is our reality.

A system that forces us to toil to make the rich even wealthier.

A system that makes us believe that identity doesn’t matter, but that making money does.

A system that forces us to betray our neighbors every day just to survive.

A system that encourages division over humanity.

A system that allows for privilege based on who you were born to, what you look like, or what you experience on a regular basis.

A system that makes it so easy to blame ourselves rather than blame its functions.

A system that demands genocide in Sudan and Palestine.

A system that demands exploitation of the Congo.

A system that demands the displacement of lives due to extractive industries.

A system that remains cruel, sometimes even to its most privileged.

The expectations that make it hard to breathe.

The internalization that you’re the problem, rather than holding the system accountable.

The ignorance of others who cannot think beyond what currently exists.

The lack of imagination we gain as adults stems from not being allowed to dream.

The fact that retirement is a far-gone pipe dream that we can no longer work towards.

You can be the smartest person.

The kindest person.

The one who’s always there.

But if you’re different, you will never succeed,

Because this society does not respect you,

Your existence,

You don’t matter in the grand scheme of things,

You only matter in the context that you can produce.

And, at some point, you internalize the very things you hate about them.

I’ve internalized everything that I thought was wrong with society.

And, now, the only peace that I can find is the one that requires solace.

Gratitude is simply in disengagement.

Platitudes towards my personal liberation of being alone.

There’s so much that I can contribute.

So much that I can provide.

So much that I can do.

But there’s nothing left in me for a society that constantly breaks me.

Still, I can’t let them win.

And I cannot allow them to get away with this.

We cannot allow them to continue.

Their wealth is not worth genocide, democide, and displacement.

Their profits are meaningless.

They are no better than you.

They are no smarter or more capable than you.

They are simply wealthier

Which is why they have power.

We can be forever distracted by this system.

Concerned about technology,

Concerned about immigrants,

Concerned about trans and queer people,

Concerned about those who are different.

Or we can unite against their fascism,

Their capitalism,

Their systems.

They tell us that we cannot dream beyond our imaginations.

They claim that what exists is all that there could ever be.

As if humanity isn’t inherently innovative.

As if we need them to tell us the power that we have.

As if they deserve to live their lives unquestioned.

We deserve the world.

The whole world.

Together, we must unite

To ensure that their world ends

And our world begins.

Once we understand this.

And unite.

We will choose to thrive because, at that point, it will be our time.
